Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
For the safety of all students, please follow these guidelines during arrival and dismissal.
These procedures are designed to protect our children and we appreciate your cooperation.
General Guidelines

Say your goodbyes outside the building.

Only enter the building if you have an appointment with a teacher or need to speak with the principal.

Parking Lot Safety

Safety is our top priority—please drive slowly, remain alert, and be patient.

Expect delays when entering or exiting the lot.

Plan ahead with your child on where to meet after school to ensure a smooth dismissal.
ARRIVAL
- All Kindergarten students and their siblings will be dropped off at Door L from the back drive.
- All other students will be dropped off in front of the school. Please pull your car up to Door N. Students will enter at Door N.
- If you intend to walk your child up to the school, even if only for a “second”, you must park your car in the park and walk zone on Janice Lane.
- Students who arrive late to school will need to be buzzed in at the front door (Door A).
- Parents are not allowed in the classrooms before and/or after school unless a previously arranged appointment has been made with the teacher.
- Please sign in at the office before proceeding to any appointments in the building.
DISMISSAL
- We will only dismiss Kindergarten students and their siblings out Door L. All other car riders will dismiss through Door N.
Car Rider(s)
- Parents must stay in their cars and go through the pick‐up line.
- Place the family Placard on your rearview mirror, visible to staff members.
- Students (one from each family) will receive a Placard on the first day of school with an assigned number.
- Kindergarten students and their siblings exit Door L.
- All other car riders exit Door N when their number is called.
- Pull up and follow staff directives.
- Please do not walk up to Door N to pick up your student
- Please stay off mobile devices and pay attention to your surroundings.
Walkers
- All Grades K‐5 will exit through Door A.
- If you park your car in the park and walk zone on Janice Lane and walk to the school to meet your child, he/she is considered a walker. You must meet them at Door A.
Bikers
- Bikers are to park their bike outside the door of the nearest direction to their home.
For example, if you are biking down White Oak Avenue, you will park your bike at the rack outside Door N. If you are biking down 35th towards Wilbur Wright, you will park your bike at the bike rack at Door A or Door C (by the gym)
Walk your bike on the sidewalk and while on school grounds.
Alternate Dismissal Procedures
- If your child’s after-school routine changes for any reason, please inform the teacher and/or the office promptly.
- Remember, teachers often do not have the opportunity to check voice mail/email messages until after dismissal.
- Please limit changes in dismissal as this interrupts teaching/class time.
- Phone changes must be done before 2:30 PM.
